  • DIY Durian Face Mask

    Chapter 208 - D.I.Y. Beauty Secrets

It's the durian season now and in Malaysia, we may get it almost all year around. Thanks to bio-technology to help to make it available the whole year. Maybe some of you don't know what durian is. It's the King of Fruits in Southeast Asia and you can easily find them in this region. They are physically spiky with overwhelming strong smell. You can actually smell them even you're across the road. Its flesh is creamy (it's like extremely strong corn flavor with smell). Many didn't like them but most Southeast Asians love them. One of them it's me.

One day when my parents bought durians back home, I've gotten the wackiest idea which is to transform it into a face mask. I did my research how beneficial durians are for skin and I was amazed and quickly get this mask done. I know this may sound crazy and ridiculous.

I know this DIY sounds crazy but after knowing that it can be so beneficial for my skin. I'll put it on my face whenever I get my hands on it.

If you get a chance to do this, let me know how did it turn out.

    Good luck, ladies!

Friendly reminder: DO NOT CONSUME ANY ALCOHOL BEVERAGES BEFORE OR AFTER EATING DURIAN. Many folks always advise this and said it would cause death. I saw some random folks enjoying durian and drinking beer and they look okay to me. Some say it's a myth but it's better to be safe than sorry. It can be very heaty for your body, so remember to drink more water.

p/s: I'm flying off to another state tomorrow. There maybe lack of updates. I hope I can still have time for blogging. Take care!

  • L.A Colors Flip Top Eyeshadow in PE225 Chocolate Review

    Chapter 207 - Quick Review

I know this is getting too much with everything on L.A. Colors this from last week and this week. It's actually one of the terms of condition of the contest from Vonnie. Whoever wins the 10 piece makeups will have to review it. Alright, the eyeshadow is very much explanatory from it's name, where you have to flip the lip to open it.

What sadden me is that when I open it I have to tear part of the info piece just to open it. It was a little messy this way. The info piece has ingredients listing, net weight and etc.

It was really pigmented and at first I thought it would be a total matte eyeshadow but it wasn't.  The eyeshadow has fine glitters in it. I wonder what's the hype of glitters in L.A. Color's eyeshadows. I mean most of their eyeshadow is with glitters? Anyways, I didn't really have much problem with this eyeshadow. Lastly, it doesn't irritate, non-scented, easy to blend and easy pick up with makeup brush.

    PROs:
    Pigmented
    Doesn't irritate
    Non-scented
    Easy to blend
Easy to pick up with makeup brush

    CONs:
Information sticker was at the opening
    Has glitters

    My rating: 4/5

  • L.A. Colors Shimmering Loose Eyeshadow with Brush in SE118 Lollipop Review

    Chapter 206 - Quick Review

I was really excited when I first saw this. It looks almost exactly like the micro eyepowder in plum from Daiso, their color is almost the same. The net weight of this product is 2.8grams. I have this from Vonnie's Contest.

This is the swatches and I can say it's really pigmented and shimmery. High shimmer I would say and it has very fine glitters in it too. I don't really recommend this if you're not into glitters. It's definitely easy to blend but it didn't really last long, unless you put on primers or using the wet method.

However, what upsets me is the brush that came with it. Look at the crazy bristles. It was totally a mess for it. The ingredients listing sticker adherence gave in when I reviewing this. It starting to come off entirely. I just stick it back twice in 10 minutes. Anyways, good thing that it doesn't irritate and non-scented.

    PROs:
    High shimmer with glitter
    Pigmented
    Doesn't irritate
    Non-scented

    CONs:
Brush that came along was crappy
    Information sticker coming off
    Doesn't last long

    My rating: 3.5/5

  • Daiso Haul-le-lu-Yah! & Nivea to Launch Cosmetics

Chapter 205 - Great Shopping Deal Episode 15

Yesterday I have managed to stop by Daiso for just 10 minutes before closing and took all this.

    From left to right:
    1. High Curling Mascara in Black - raved by the local beauty bloggers
    2. Color Series Eyebrow and Eyeliner Pencil in Black
    3. Dial Concealer (shades can be identified through it's color strip, mine is green) - I was totally impressed
    4. Princess Lip Gloss - Love it so much!

I still can't get enough of Daiso yet! Can't wait for the next trip there. Everything shown was just RM5.

Oh, I've spotted something new from Nivea in last two day's newspapers. It's the collaboration between Nivea and the French lingerie designer, Chantal Thomass for a boudoir-theme line with eight lipsticks, six eyeshadows and two blushes.  The line will be available for a year from July in 16 European countries. I hope that it's not too expensive. I have not see them existed on the cosmetic shelfs here yet. Have you spotted them?

  • D.I.Y. Lip Color with Palette

    Chapter 204 - D.I.Y Beauty Secrets

First of all, I'd like to thank Mina for encouraging me to do voice over in my videos. I wanted to do voice over in my videos very long ago because that way it makes the video more detail and informative. Plus I think that I have such a childish voice and that sort of stop me from doing it. Thanks again, Mina.

I know this probably a small idea but I hope everyone enjoys it.

The key point while creating colors is be creative. Think of what color that you want and figure slowly on mixing the colors. Let me list down my lip palette colors

(From first row, left to right)
    1. Hot Pink Gaze - striking hot pink color
    2. Rosy Pink - light rosey pink
    3. Ruby Red - red just like ruby [the color from the video]
    4. Pale Purple - white and a hint of purple

(From second row, left to right)
    1. Golden Bronze - brown plus with gold
    2. Tangerine Pink - orange with pink
    3. Tough Brown - deep brown with red
    4. Skin Like Me - foundation color

The reason I use tablet box is I find that they would able to separate the colors and putting many different colors together. You don't have to follow using tablet box, you can always use contact lens cases, small jars and etc.

    Hope everyone enjoys this!

  • L.A. Colors 5 Color Metallic Eyeshadow in EP22 Tease Review

    Chapter 203 - Quick Review

I think is probably the best eyeshadow palette from L.A. Colors. Well with all the ones that I have is this is the best. First of all, it has ingredients listing at the back of palette. Some people might give a thought why ingredient listing is so important when reviewing a product. It is totally important especially for people who comes with sensitive skin types. They will be able to identify what ingredients that they are allergic to or some people who already know what they are allergic with. For me, I'm really lucky that I have any allergy towards make-ups yet except that the fact I have to be picky on foundations to see whether they are non-comedogenic. Anyways, let's get back to the product review.

I love that they are so pigmented! Even with the flash on, you can tell how pigmented are they. It is a little shimmery and has a very very mild baby powder smell. Easy to blend and it can be multipurpose (eg. eyeshadow/highlighter/blusher). It flakes a little when picking up using make-up brush. It comes with low quality double ended sponge applicator. It's going to be my disposables.

The only flaw that I found is one of the pan was chipped and my palette was a little difficult to open. The fact that I saw the pan was chipped made me wonder if the QC department actually does their job. But luckily the defect of the pan doesn't affect the eyeshadow. It did not crack or anything else. It's still in good shape.

    PROs:
    Very pigmented and shimmer
    Easy to blend
    Multipurpose (eg. eyeshadow/highlighter/blusher)
    Ingredients listing provided

    CONs:
    Flakes a little
Very very mild baby powder smell
    Low quality sponge applicator
Pan chipped and difficult to open

    My rating: 4.5/5

  • L.A.Colors 6 Color Metallic Eyeshadow in BES451 Dreamy Review

    Chapter 202 - Quick Review

This is one of the palette that I have the same with Vonnie, her review is here. Again, I have won this palette from Vonnie's Contest. So, no questions about how much were they. I was pretty disappointed with L.A. Colors 12 eyeshadow palette but this has make a difference. It doesn't come with any ingredients listing.

BES451 Dreamy comes with six red to pink shades. The lightest color is suitable for highlighting and the rest of the colors can be multipurpose. It has a very mild baby powder smell. It's comes with a low quality double ended sponge applicator, again I chuck it aside to be disposable.

This eyeshadows are quite pigmented and it's a little shimmer. It flakes a little when I pick it up using my brush but they are easy to be pick up. I've used them in my Joyful Ride Tutorial and you can actually tell how good are they. They are easy to be blend too. I'm quite satisfied with this palette

    PROs:
    Pigmented and shimmer
    Easy to blend
    Multipurpose

    CONs:
    Flakes a little
    Mild baby powder smell

    My rating: 4/5

  • L.A. Colors 12 Eyeshadow Palette in 10036 Urban Review

    Chapter 201 - Quick Review

This palette comes with 12 colors. There's not much details from the palette. No net weight or any ingredients listing. I'm not too sure about the pricing because I have it for free from Vonnie's Contest. For me, I think eyeshadow palettes are great because they are like a package with everything.

The color is very sheer and matte, not as pigmented as I thought it was. Using wet make-up method or eye primer, would help to enhance the color. When I open the palette, it has a strong smell of baby powder. It doesn't bother me but for those who does, this is a no-no for you.

I'm not sure if I'm sensitive or something else, I think at the joint of the palette lid is chipped? I just realize it not long ago but it doesn't really bother me because it doesn't damage the inside of the palette.

This is like a dejavu of L.A. Colors Glitter Starlet Eyeshadow Palette. It has the same identical color. Both light greens. Weird~ The reason I chose this palette is because I wanted colorful shades. The sponge applicator are the low quality ones. I chuck it aside.

    PROs:
    A palette with many colors
    Matte colors

    CONs:
    Sheer colors
    Same identical color
    Palette lid chipped
    Low quality sponge

    My rating: 2.5/5
